Twerbose – When 140 Characters Just Aren’t Enough

Twerbose just has a great name, merging the ideas of the 140 character limit with users of the service who are a bit ‘verbose.” If you are one of the many people who run into a problem with the 140 character limit and need just a bit more this could be the service for you. Once upon a time we could rely on IMs, e-mail, etc in order to converse back and forth with people but I’ll be honest I’ve met quite a few people who I do not know or speak with outside of Twitter. Constantly I’ve had to rephrase or send multiple tweets to get an idea to someone. Twerbose is the solution to having this problem.

Basically it will display the start of your over sized message with the equivalent of a “more” link at the end that will take you to the user’s Twerbose account that shows the full message in question. On the full message you are able to respond, comment, etc. Some people really don’t seem to get it though as a few of the examples looked like blog posts! If you feel inconvenienced by the 140 character limit Twerbose is a great tool to get around it. Actually thinking of it for the blog posts. I’ll have to re-browse the Twitter wordpress plugins out there- having an option to display your recent tweets in this format would be a plus.

Are You A Freelancer That Uses Twitter?

Tweetlancers is a free resource to allow both businesses and individuals post jobs they need to Twitter at a targeted audience or on the flip side if you are a service provider looking for work you can use the same service to find potential clients.

It’s a simple service to sign up on that will:
As a client – Allow you to easily contact providers who can help fill the work which you need to finish.
As a service provider – Show any incoming tweets that are targeting freelancers with open jobs.

By signing up on this site when you take a look at one of these tweets you will see the contact information of the client or provider you wish to work with. It’s another source to get freelance work done or find freelance jobs depending on which you are looking for. Freelancing is obviously a huge business on the Internet and new ways to find work or workers is always a boon to everyone involved. If you are a, or work with, freelancers you may want to try Tweetlancers.

TweetBots – Helping To Make Twitter Users Lazy Since 2009

TweetBots while having some of the standard features of Twitter services has a good combination of them and also an interesting way to allow multiple users use a single account without having to give away the login for that account.

There Are Currently 3 Main Features To TweetBots

- The first of these 3 is the selling point (assuming this wasn’t free) of the service. It has a unique way that will allow you to have multiple people send messages from an account via a bot that has allows accounts enabled. You create your bot account and setup other Twitter users to have access to it. Once this access is enabled any direct message which they send to this account will allow the bot to post a Tweet to post to the account. It’s a great way to allow multiple users to post on a Twitter account without allowing them all to have the login credentials to it.

- The second feature is a pretty standard feature that has been popping up on Twitter services as of late. It is one that lets you set your account to automatically follow anyone that follows you. It’s great for follow-action but does make you have to worry about people who are just looking for others to have more followers as well. If you want to expand your audience it’s a good way to thank those who follow you, though not a feature I’ve ever been that large of a fan of.

- Finally the service allows you to tweet your RSS feeds to your Twitter account. Does this feature sound familiar? I spoke of a similar service just two days ago called FeedNest.

If your looking to have any or a combination of these services, TweetBots is a great web service that allows you to do so.

FeedNest brings you a new way to follow your RSS feeds via Twitter

FeedNest is a new way to interact with your RSS feeds. Usually when you think of RSS you think of a plugin, an e-mail subscription, a RSS reader, possibly even a RSS agregator. That being the case it was only a matter of time before someone thought to combine the latest social trend of Twitter with that of one of the standards in current web technology.

There are already currently wordpress plugins that will tweet any blog post that you make onto Twitter. Not every website is a blog though. For those of you who are looking to find a way to semi-automate RSS feeds to Twitter, there’s a new little web application on the block. I don’t have to explain exactly how large of an audience that Twitter has created for content publishers- so why not take advantage of this? FeedNest is the first tool that I have seen which will allow you to do just this.

Tweet O’Clock, Find Out When It’s Best To Tweet Someone

Tweet O’Clock is a good tool for knowing when is the best time to try and contact someone on Twitter. There is no ‘online status’ that shows when users are and aren’t online so the only way to really ‘guess’ on when a user can be contacted is to go by their past times of tweets.

Now I’m sure you’ll agree that going through the last 3-5 or more days of tweets from a single person sounds absolutely fantastic and the perfect way to spend time trying to see when someone will be more likely to be online right? Of course not. That’s where Tweet O’Clock comes in. All you need to do is enter the Twitter user name of the person you are looking into contacting and it will display the time(s) that you’ll more likely be able to contact them.

I compared my 2 accounts as well as a few others. Apparently I’m most likely to be on Twitter at 9am on Wednesday. That’s a bit unexpected. So if your looking to contact someone on Twitter and are looking for the most likely time to catch them on- Tweet O’Clock will provide the answer.

It’s an extremely straight forward application to boot!

It doesn’t get more straight forward than entering your Twitter user name and hitting the go button followed by selecting the graphic that you want to display. At that point the code is generated to paste on your website, blog, social networking sites, forums, wherever! It really just does not get more simple.

If you are a heavy Twitter user and are in search of a quick way to add a Twitter badge to your site to allow people to follow you it is hard to find an easier solution than this one. Obviously this is of no help if you are a person who makes their own graphics but for most people on the web this is a great time server you’ll love to have. So, head over to Twitter Icon today if you want to increase your visual Twitter presence on your website today.

TweetSum – How To Know Which Of Your Twitter Followers Are On Your Wavelength

TweetSum is a service that attempts to show how relevant your followers are when compared to the content that you tweet on. It’s main goal is to let you know which of those that follow you are worth looking into clicking that follow button on. When your networking you want to network with people in your field or fields related to yours and this is a great tool that helps you do just that!

The entire process is based on the DBI. The DBI, or the Douche Bag Index, is calculated by a few major factors- number of followers, number of friends, profile content, tweet content, and a custom algorithm that they are still working on adjusting to be just right. There is a lot to keep in mind when factoring compatibility with so few public fiends on Twitter, yet TweetSum does a great job.

Interested in getting a little help in organizing the contacts in the Twitter portion of the digital side of your life? TweetSum is the tool for you.

Tweetpkr – Allows You To Check Twitter Updates While Not At Twitter

Tweetpkr, or tweet-peek-er, let’s you “take a peek at your friends twitter updates from anywhere.” If you aren’t a user of any third party Twitter account managers and always keep it in your browser this can be helpful at keeping track of your friend’s updates WHILE browsing. It really is as simple as entering your login credentials on the site and dragging the encrypted link that is created into your bookmark bar. Anytime you click the link it will have a menu pop up in your browser that will show the latest tweets from your friends as well as add your own tweets!

Officially the following browsers are supported: Firefox, Internet Explorer, Chroms, Opera, and Safari. It’s a safe bet that the majority of people out there are going to be set with whatever browser they use by default. I know there are other browsers out there but you are lying to yourself if you don’t think that covers the majority of web surfers. The following video is a demonstration on how it works and honestly that is as simple as it is to setup and use. GREAT service for anyone who uses Twitter a lot. I added it to my Firefox at work today and have absolutely no complaints!

iList Micro Enables You To Tweet Classified Ads For Selling AND Buying

iList Micro, a new idea brought forth by the Classified Ads site iList, is targeting Twitter as it’s main source of finding what people have to sell and what people are looking to purchase. The service allows you to enter a simple set of hash tags for either option and will a) show them on the iList Micro page and b) if you follow iList on Twitter you will get direct messages on Twitter if anything matches for what you are looking to buy or sell in your area.

The company itself is focused on using classified ads by harnessing “the power of your social networks on Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and others to share your listing with your friends and their friends.” While this has been their goal for some time now it is only now expanding even further with the services it is offering on Twitter.

How iList Uses Twitter

The company is making it easy to interact with everyone’s favorite 146 character service- “Tweet your listing with the hashtag #ihave (ex. for selling) or #iwant (for wanted) listings. The magic iList Micro robots will automatically put all of those tweets here.” Here being the iList Micro main page where it is constantly updating with new tweets sent out by those posting ads. The great thing is thesse are not the only hashtags that you can use. They have expanded upon the system by allowing categories “#forsale, #forrent, #free, #events, #jobs, or even something like #electronics.” They also are incorporating locations and are finding ways to track relevant classifieds not directly posted on the service to be able to expand people searching to buy, sell, or rent and allow them to find what they are looking for. It’s a simple ideas and a lot of thought put into how it was developed.

Twibs – The Twitter Business Directory

Twibs was created to be the ultimate directory for finding what business have a Twitter profile. The company believes that Twitter has the power to connect customers and businesses in ways only hinted at by the advancement of blogging in our society. This being the case in order for that to work it needs to be easy for customers to find the businesses that they wish to interact with and that’s where Twibs comes into play.

Being able to communicate with someone from a company has always been a huge win for keeping consumer loyalty. Twitter has allowed for businesses to step up and speak directly with their customers in a new way and it’s one that has been for the better. Twibs is the easiest way to be able to find companies who actually are on Twitter that you would want to communicate with and honestly is a very useful service in both terms of allowing users to reach employees who are willing to speak to them on just about anything- or at least point them in the right direction. The interface Twibs uses allows you to group businesses both alphabetically as well as by number of followers. Bonus is being able to tweet companies directly from the page. Companies looking to be added to the directly go through an extremely painless process and are added rather quickly.

My ONLY complaint? They didn’t add groups to sort businesses by. As many Twitter applications are developing their own grouping system it could have been useful to see one implemented on Twibs so that you could find a list of the type of companies you may wish to be looking for. Otherwise? A+ for usefulness!
